This year, we will be offering an all-inclusive price for your t-shirts, video, and performance photos (separate from in-studio picture day, more about that below.). For $45, you will receive one t-shirt for your dancer, as well as access to all photos and video from the show! This is normally a $90+ value!! The fee will be posted to your parent portal account. Please fill out the form below to order your preferred T-shirt size. If you would like to purchase any additional t-shirts, you may also indicate that on the form below.
We will have a professional videographer come to film our production. It is EXTREMELY important that you do not record video on your phones during the show. It distracts the other audience members as well as performers AND it causes our videographer to be reluctant to record the show professionally at all. If you are recording during the performance, you may be asked to leave. Please don’t do it!
Our Nutcracker Picture Day will be Wednesday, December 15th at 5678 Dance. Order forms are included and can be emailed to sarah@sc.design. You may also bring your form with you on the day of pictures or bring it to the studio ahead of time.
IMPORTANT: Your order form MUST be filled out BEFORE your dancer goes to take her picture. Not doing so may result in a missing photo package.
Please refer to your dancer’s costume information sheet that will be sent home for what to wear, including hair and makeup. Arrive 15 minutes BEFORE your dancer’s picture time with hair and makeup already done. You may put on her costume at the studio.
If your packet includes an “extra rehearsal” sheet, it means that your dancer will need to be present at a rehearsal outside of their normal class times. We will also need to run our Act 1 and Act 2 on separate days. Please refer to this packet to see which rehearsal your dancer will need to attend. These rehearsals will be held at the studio. Since The Nutcracker is the biggest production we put on, there are many pieces that need to be put together in order for the show to run smoothly. Please mark those dates in your calendar!
Dress Rehearsals are mandatory and will be held Thursday, December 16th and Friday, December 17th. Your packet will be marked with the correct rehearsal day for you (or both if applicable). These are CLOSED rehearsals. NO parents except stage moms will be allowed backstage! It is important for the dancers to run the show without any distractions. There will be a backstage mom or faculty member supervising your dancer at ALL times.
We are looking for volunteers who would like to be “Backstage Moms” for your dancer’s class. Reminder, stage moms must be available for both their class’s dress rehearsal day AND the show. Being a stage mom is a great experience for you and your dancer. Stage moms will receive a FREE T-shirt and will get to still watch their dancer perform from our VIP seats in the auditorium. Please let us know if you have any questions or are interested in being a huge part of our show!
Tickets for our show are $15 each and are available for purchase online and will go on sale at 10:30am on November 13th. Tickets will also be sold during dress rehearsal and at the door on show day. Please buy your tickets early as we were sold out to capacity last year before dress rehearsals began!
We will continue the tradition of selling silver charms to add to your dancer’s bracelet or to wear on a chain as a pendant. Charms, bracelets and silver chains will be available at the front desk in November and at dress rehearsals as well as show day.
Please NO videotaping OR flash photography! It is a dangerous distraction to our performers!
No parents except stage moms will be allowed backstage including during intermission! Please allow your performers the time to rest and change costumes. Stage moms will help them throughout the show and will also provide entertainment (for our little ones).
ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS are permitted anywhere in the auditorium. Only water is permitted backstage and in the dressing areas.
Please do NOT eat in costume! Things will happen.
1 Pair of tights will be included with your dancer’s costume. If you would like to purchase an additional pair (not a bad idea to have on hand in case of accidents), those will be available at the desk and during dress rehearsals.
Please, NO COSTUMES in the audience before the performances.
Please check your costume instruction sheets to be sure that you have all of your costume pieces and the appropriate brands and colors of tights.
Please fit costumes on dancers BEFORE sewing to prevent loose sleeves, straps, etc.
Please wear appropriate stage make-up since stage lighting tends to “wash out” faces. Eyeshadow should be in neutrals (browns, pinks, beiges) and lipstick and blush should match costumes.
REMEMBER: NO Jewelry, NO Fingernail Polish and NO Underwear
